What is VOIP?

VOIP (Voice over IP) refers to making (and receiving) phone calls over the Internet, typically used with ADSL, Cable or Wireless Broadband Connections.

What do I get with my FREE VOIP ACCOUNT?

You will receive a FREE Local Number* and $5 Credit with all accounts except the "Text only pack". So if you live in Melbourne, you will receive a Local Phone number beginning with a (03) prefix, Sydney (02) etc. The Credit will allow you to make local, national and mobile phone calls.

Use your FREE Local Number* on your listings and avoid nuisance calls. You can also forward calls to another number.

If you decide to make any phone calls, the following charges will apply:
Local and National Calls: 14.9 cents untimed, anytime
Calls to Mobiles: 24.9 cents per minute
International Calls: from 1.5 cents per minute

FREE Local Number* - is valid for 3 months from the time your Account is setup. After this period, you will pay $4.95 per month. Your VOIP Account can be cancelled at any time after the first 3 months.

Can I upgrade my VOIP Account?

Yes. For an additional $10 per month (normally $14.95), you will get:

* 300 local calls per month
* 300 national calls per month
* 100 calls to Australian mobiles, or 500 mobile minutes per month

What are some of the other Features?

Voice Mail
When you are unable to answer a call, voice mail will take a message for you. Record your own greeting to personalise your service.

Turbo Dialing
When making a call, you can speed up the time taken to dial a phone number.

Caller ID
When making a call, your phone number will be displayed to the person you are dialing, provided they have access to Call Line ID.

Call Waiting
While you are on a call, the call waiting tone (one beep every ten seconds) will advise you of an incoming call waiting to be answered.

Call Return
If you have missed a call, or if you wish to call the last person you were speaking with, Call Return allows you to automatically dial the last caller's number, providing their number has not been blocked from being sent.

Calling Line ID
Provided your telephone has a Call Line ID display screen, you can identify the number of the person who is calling you before you answer your phone. You will be able to see all calling parties telephone numbers unless they have blocked their number from being sent.

Three Way Calling (Conference Calling)
While engaging in an active call, you can originate a call to a third party and have a three-way conversation.

Speed Dial
Allows you to store up to eight phone numbers for Speed Dialing at the press of two buttons. Make life easy by pre-setting emergency numbers and frequently dialed numbers.

Blocked Last Call
If you do not wish for your last caller to be able to ring your telephone again, you can block the caller's number, providing they have not activated caller ID blocking.

Block Caller ID
When making a call, your phone number is sent to the phone of the person you are dialing. You can control sending your phone number by either blocking your number for all calls, or by blocking your number on a call-by-call basis. (Not available with VoIP to VoIP calls).

Do Not Disturb
If you do not wish to be disturbed, however require your phone to continue charging on the phone base, Do Not Disturb either gives callers a busy tone or diverts to your voice mail inbox (if your voice mail is active).

Call Forwarding
Call Forwarding redirects your incoming calls to another number. It can be set to forward all calls, only when there's no answer, or when your phone is busy.
